Our Mission

Love & Serve God

Love One Another

Love God

Jesus said, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind." (Matthew 22:37) In I Samuel 12:24 it states, "Only fear the Lord and serve Him faithfully with all your heart. For consider what great things He has done for you."

We exist to call men and women to celebrate and be changed by the life, death and resurrection of Jesus and His Lordship over all of life - for the praise of his wonder and glory. Loving God and serving Him is at the center of our mission.

Love One Another

There are over 100 "love one another" verses in the Bible! Romans 12:5 states, "So in Christ we who are man form one body, and each member belongs to all the others." As the Gospel changes our lives, it encourages us to help one another so that the Gospel can change another's life. Jesus said he came to not to be served, but to serve. (Matthew 20:28)

As a church we know we are not perfect and we want to follow Christ with our whole heart to allow the message of "good news" to change us. We want to love God with all of our heart so that we are enable to serve Him. Likewise, as God works in us to change us we want to help and serve others so that God can work in their lives.

Worship

"Worthy are you, our Lord and God,

to receive glory and honor and power,

for you created all things,

and by your will they exist and were created."

Revelation 4:11

Missions is not the ultimate goal of the church. Worship is. Missions exists because worship does not.

-John Piper

Human beings were created out of the abundance of love found in the Triune God of the universe. God did not create us because He lacked anything but because of the abundance of His love. God created humans for the sake of His glory and finds delight in our relationship with Him. You and I were created to worship God, to bring glory to His name, and to experience complete delight in Him alone. We believe that the people of God are ambassadors of Christ on mission to bring others into this experience and to aid in the restoration of this fallen world.

Our worship services at WCC seek to bring this mission to reality. Sunday mornings consist of fellowship, lifting our voices in song and praise, corporate time of prayer, the reading of God's Word, the participation of The Lord's Supper, and the preaching of God's Word. At WCC we take the Apostle Paul's words to heart when he reminds the church in Corinth that though our outer person is being destroyed, our inner person is being renewed day by day (2 Corinth. 4:16). We believe these elements of worship partner with the Holy Spirit to bring about this renewal process.
